Questions

How is depreciation calculated here?

For each style Kelley Blue Book lists, we divide today's private-party value by the original MSRP, then take the median across styles (Good condition, fetched 2026-10-23). If you enter your own purchase price, we apply that same percentage to it.

How much value does a car lose in 5 years?

Across the 5-year-old model-years we track, the median car keeps 54.0% of its original MSRP in a private sale (42 model-years).

Why does my model show "not available"?

Some KBB pages do not list an original MSRP for each style. We show "not available" instead of guessing.
